Crisp mornings, pumpkin spice lattes, gradient foliage, chunky knits, beanies...signaling the most coveted season that no one can complain about.  But before you stow away your summer wardrobe, take notes from Josh.  Fuse bright colors (or florals) with cooler tones for the pop effect and throw on a printed windbreaker to be Autumn appropriate.

We made our way to Al-Sham Sweets in Astoria and indulged in authentic Turkish treats that only cost a dollar. Yes, a dollar. The local thrift store on the other hand, did have a few good finds.

Beachwear is the single most anticipated season in the calendar. With throngs, literal throngs, of women (and men) throwing themselves simultaneously at retailers and magical youtube screens that read like tell-all books on how to "get that perfect beach bod now" the whole season seems a little too contrived. A relaxing day of sand and sea became this man-made day of slick oils and bikini prints.

Anyone can buy out the fashion's new fall line. It's hard to fashion cool.

But here come the lovely ladies of Queens we've been featuring all summer--mixing and matching print after print, fabric after fabric--doing what they do best: they improvised.

A jean button-up and a black chiffon button-up is beach cool as long as you're comfortable in it.

A big shoutout to the friends who kept up with our blog, waiting anxiously every Sunday Night for the weekly Sunday Best. @jiyoonyoo @elizang. And to my boy, J. Louie who made a photo blog about clothes and the people we know who like wearing them even remotely feasible.

While there may be fear of overhype or overplay, the little black dress is possibly the staunchest example of a classic. 

The dress is accompanied by the pop of a turquoise belt, royal blue bag and silver rings.

Anna is probably the boldest dresser on staff. Yet in the all the bold prints she rocks, you never forget the details. Rolled shirt, rolled sleeves, gold watch.

Her thrifter's intuition has made a living in her closet.

You can often tell exactly how extraordinary a thrifting extraordinaire is from the accessories they acquire--accessories that always accentuate a personality, from the simple hazy image of a fall line off the runway. Accessories are often the only distinction between humans and mannequins. From her gold watch to her iconic Club Master, Anna is Queens thrifting, resurgent.

Cindy Lin, our Chinese goddess, playing with a pink gradient on an unpleasantly humid Sunday.  Hard to believe it's already August, Queens Subject is savoring the last summer of collegiate life as we head off into senior year..but it's too early to settle on that thought right now. Just a heads up for those of you who live in NYC, Restaurant Week ends this Friday (though it's most likely going to be extended)!  Dress well, eat well.

Thanks to Josh, we had the chance to check out a ramen fest. in Astoria (refer to posts below) and even captured a few of our own HONY-esque moments.  A little rain never hurts, especially when your outfit compliments grey skies (navy was probably the color of the day).  Polka dots look good on you too, gentlemen.
